description

In the classical period, the Acropolis was the central city sanctuary and symbol of the Athenian democracy, where artistic expression reached its peak in the 5th century BC. It has always been the center of gravity of Athens and narrates its turbulent history, which we are going to discover together.

Ascending the slope of the Acropolis hill, we enjoy the splendid 360-degree view of the city, the hills, the mountains, and the sea. On the top, we learn the history of the Propylaia, the Athena Nike Temple, the Erechtheion, and the Parthenon, the most iconic monument of Athens. Then walking along the Dionysiou Areopagitou street with its amazing neoclassical mansions we reach the Acropolis Museum. In the modern three-storey museum building we see the findings from the slopes of the Acropolis hill, the fascinating marble statues dedicated by the local people to their goddess, and, of course, the museum's highlight, the Parthenon gallery.
